Portland East Middle School May 15, 2016 A big thanks to Brent Dyer, Deputy Chief of Training with Sumner County EMS, who came to Mrs. Clark’s 8th grade science class on Monday to talk with students about the use of science and math in the emergency medical field. Miles for Memories

The Gallatin News SHERRY MITCHELL May 11, 2017 It can be hard to lose a loved one, but one county employee is taking steps to help those in hospice enjoy those last moments and help their families create lasting memories by providing a free transport and one-hour outing anywhere in Sumner County. Called Miles for Memories, the program was the brainchild of Sumner EMS medic and instructor Marie Blevins, but after her unexpected death in 2013, the program stalled, and was forgotten about. Now paramedic Jessica Nuckols has taken the reigns to renew the program for area hospice patients....
