Emergency Medical Services
What we offer
Sumner County Emergency Medical Services provides 24-hour Emergency and Non-Emergency medical transportation to its citizens.
We currently staff 10 Advanced Life Support ambulances to meet the emergency needs of Sumner County. To meet the our citizen's non emergency needs we also staff 6 Basic Life Support units.
Every Advanced Life Support equipped ambulance carries at least one licensed Paramedic. Sumner EMS is also an "A" rated service by the state of Tennessee, which is the highest rating available.
We enjoy very liberal protocols at Sumner County EMS and are fortunate to have an extremely active Medical Director. With the exception of very few treatments, most protocols are considered standing orders.
Below are some of the advanced treatments that we are trained to perform without ER Orders.
1. Rapid Sequence Intubation
2. Needle decompression
3. Full Advanced Cardiac Life Support protocols
4. Full Pediatric Advanced Life Support protocols
5. Full Basic Trauma Life Support protocols
As a courtesy we have provided links to our protocols for use by first responders and fire fighting agencies
