After many years of planning, today Sumner County EMS, Sumner EMA and the Portland Fire Department moved into this new wonderful facility. This project was a joint effort between the 3 public safety agencies to improve services for citizens and working conditions for employees.

Sumner EMS operations include all EMS resources for the Portland area of the county – Station #6. Portland Fire Department will be utilizing this facility as their south station – Fire Hall #2. Sumner EMA will house resources to enhance response capabilities for the northern part of Sumner County.

“Thank you” to Sumner County Executive Anthony Holt, the Sumner County Commission, Sumner County Schools, the City of Portland, Portland Fire Dept., PFD Chief Al West, and EMA Director Ken Weidner for partnering and funding this project – it’s been a LONG time coming!!!

Special thanks to Communications Director Vincent Riley, Deputy Chief of Logistics Sean Frary, Battalion Chief John Michael Poss, Assistant Chief Sam Clark, Assistant Chief Jay Austin for all your hard work throughout this process – and especially the Medic 6/61 employees who have helped along the way!!!

We will be announcing a Grand Opening soon.
